The Curse

2.
In the curse, the theme of forgiveness is evident through two characters, the Old Lady and Azreen. The Old Lady tolerated her abusive and alcoholic husband for years. After every beating he would apologize and the Old Lady would forgive him because she loved him deeply. However, one day he went too far and the Old Lady killed him in self-defence. As a result, she was not accepted by the villagers and moved into the jungle where she lived a solitary life.Years later, when Azreen asked her how she could forgive her husband, the Old Lady simply replied that she had to move on. By forgiving her husband, she had found her peace in her life and she was very contented. Azreen remembered the Old Lady's advice when she returned to London. When she received Asraf's letter, she realized that she had found it in her heart to forgive him. Although it is not mentioned in the story, we get the impression that Azreen has also forgiven all those tho hury her, especially her father. That is why she finds peace in London and she feels very much at home there. The novel has taught us that in order to find peace, we must first learn to forgive.

Viva La Vida =]

My first time of hearing this song is in the Teacher's Day Ceremony. It is presented by FYSO.
I search this song online and find more information about this song.

Viva La Vida is a song of Coldplay.
It was nominated for "Record of the Year", and won "Song of the Year", and "Best Pop Performance by a Duo or a Group" at the 2009 Grammy Awards. This song also won the Ivor Novello Award for "Best Selling British Single". The song was included in Rolling Stone's annual "100 Best Songs" of 2008 at number nine.
It is also an advertisement song of iPod & iTunes.

This one is presented by Vitamin String Quartet

Below is the lyrics of the song:

I used to rule the world
Seas would rise when I gave the word
Now in the morning I sleep alone
Sweep the streets I used to own

I used to roll the dice
Feel the fear in my enemies eyes
Listen as the crowd would sing:
"Now the old king is dead! Long live the king!"

One minute I held the key
Next the walls were closed on me
And I discovered that my castles stand
Upon pillars of salt, and pillars of sand

I hear Jerusalem bells are ringing
Roman Cavalry choirs are singing
Be my mirror my sword and shield
My missionaries in a foreign field
For some reason I can not explain
Once you know there was never, never an honest word
That was when I ruled the world

It was the wicked and wild wind
Blew down the doors to let me in.
Shattered windows and the sound of drums
People could not believe what I'd become
Revolutionaries Wait
For my head on a silver plate
Just a puppet on a lonely string
Oh who would ever want to be king?

I hear Jerusalem bells are ringing
Roman Cavalry choirs are singing
Be my mirror my sword and shield
My missionaries in a foreign field
For some reason I can not explain
I know Saint Peter won't call my name
Never an honest word
And that was when I ruled the world

Hear Jerusalem bells are ringings
Roman Cavalry choirs are singing
Be my mirror my sword and shield
My missionaries in a foreign field
For some reason I can not explain
I know Saint Peter will call my name
Never an honest word
But that was when I ruled the world.

Choir Competition

Country Road is one of the songs we sing in the choir competition.
There are two versions for this song, Japanese version and English version, and we choose the Japanese version.

This one is the Japanese version, sung by Yumi Arai.

And this one is English version, sung by John Denver.

Actually I prefer the English version and the english lyrics is easier for us to learn but the second song we sing has only Japanese one so the Japanese one is more suitable.

The second song is Always With You, the theme song of Spirited Away.

We take many time to train. Hope that we can get the good result in the competition.

17th Johor Wushu Championship

6th-8th April
The 17th Johor Wushu Championship was held at IOI mall, Kulai.
Our school Wushu Society took part in this competition.

This competition is held once a year. All wushu teams in Johor participate this competition to compete with others. In the competition, I met many people who are excellent in wushu. This let me learn many things.

I take part in NanDao Routine and NanGun Routine. I won the bronze pedal in NanGun Routine but I do not satisfy my result this time.

Our school final result is 6 gold, 7 silver, 13 bronze.
Our performance in this competition is not bad.

One Wushu One Family

In the photo are JB & Kulai FYWS and our graduated senior. Rarely, so many FYWS members can gather at same place. We play joke and encourage each other in these three days. This is such a memorable activity.
